History, however, seems to note that Jews were persecuted even before Jesus' demise. So, I've never given that theory much deliberation. My point wasn't to correct you, but to point out that the persecution of Jews has been wide spread through different ages in history and anti-Semitism was also wide spread among the so-called liberators after WW2. As a Jewish observer put it, "Eighteen months after liberation...the war is not yet over for European Jewry. They are impossible to repatriate and almost as difficult to resettle. No one wants them now just as no one wanted them before or during the war."

Of course you're right, I just didn't want to go back that far in time. And I didn't want to annoy and bore anyone with the not so uncommon "the-jews-killed-Jesus-Christ-therefore-they-will-suffer-eternally"-theory.

The Egyptians didn't have much liking for them either. I think that Hitler's position on Jews is rather complexed and has multiple reasons. There was, of course, plain racism. However, if one really looks at it in an unbiased manner, Jewish communities tend to be very strong. They tend to be very united in tradition and they also tend to become politically and financially powerful. None of those things would go well with a doctrine that is based on Aryan supremacy and the innate right of the Aryan people to own Germany's assets. And, even though the extermination of Jews by the Third Reich is an undeniable historical fact, it is also a fact that other countries weren't jumping at the chance to help them out...not even after the war. This is why so many spent a long time in camps after the war. That's just a little part of history that nobody likes to speak about.

Just mentioning when the Jews were made responsible for the outbreak of the pestilence from 1348-51 and that meant southern europe as well and even the Ottoman Empire . Or in Bohemia back in 1161, the alleged poisoning of wells by the Jews.

He needed a scapegoat to rally the German people after WWI and the truly horrific depression that followed. It was the evil Jew bankers and businessmen who were holding back the German people by controlling all the money ect. you see. Himmler,Heydrich, Streicher,and Eichman et al were true believers who really thought that the Jews, Slavs, Gypsies and Russians were sub-human vermin who were corrupting the human gene pool and considered it their holy duty to exterminate from the face of the earth. I don't know how much of this Hitler personally bought into, but he did sign the orders.
