Lauri Nissinen

Lauri Vilhelm Nissinen(1918-1944) was a Finnish fighter ace and Knight of the Mannerheim Cross #69. Just like so many other Finnish fighter pilots, Nissinen first flew Fokker D.XXI(3 kills) in Winter War and Brewster(24 kills) and Messerschmitt(7 kills) in Continuation War. Lt. Lauri Nissinen was killed in action on June 24, 1944 during aerial combat when his fellow lieutenant's plane was shot out of control and it fell on top of Nissinen's Bf 109 in a wild spin, taking down both of the pilots.
