Interesting photo. These Canadians appear to be wearing the Mark III "Turtle" helmet, that was phased in from 1944 to replace the classic Brodie "Tin Hat" in the British and Commonwealth forces. Differences are fairly subtle - but these were reckoned ...
Interesting photo. These Canadians appear to be wearing the Mark III "Turtle" helmet, that was phased in from 1944 to replace the classic Brodie "Tin Hat" in the British and Commonwealth forces. Differences are fairly subtle - but these were reckoned to provide significantly more protection to the side of the head. Best regards, JR.
