A Tilly (from "Utility") is a utility vehicle produced during World War II based on existing car designs for use by the British armed forces during World War II. 
The future Queen of Great Britain - Elizabeth II - served in the territorial corps from February 1945 and was qualified as a driver and auto mechanic. The vehicle in the picture is the Austin K2Y 4x2 Heavy Ambulance.
