Ju-52 transport in operation in resupply of the Demanysk Pocket, early 1942.  The Luftwaffe was to a large extent successful in supplying the Demanysk and Kholm Pockets until breakout became possible.  This seems to have encouraged Reichsmarschall Goering to believe that he could achieve the same on a much larger scale - at Stalingrad, later in the year.  Big and costly mistake ... JR.
