Troops of the 5th Engineer Special Brigade are embarking onto Landing Craft Assault (LCT) at Weymouth, Dorset in southern England. From there, they were transferred to the troop transport ship USS Thurston (AP-77), destined to sail to Omaha Beach in Normandy, France; May 1944.
