A 33-men patrol of American soldiers, representing all the battalions of the 334th Infantry Regiment, 84th Infantry Division, assemble in a rocky forested area about 10 miles north of Bastogne, Belgium; December, 194(4).

After cutting across France, the 6th Armored Division reached the German border on 6 December, 1944 and established and maintained defensive positions in the vicinity of  the city of Saarbrücken.
