My Uncle Jim- James J. Gallagher- born in Ireland, raised in Brooklyn NY. Joined the army in 1942- served and was seriously wounded in Europe.  Stayed in army and retired as Lt. Colonel.  1921-1988

After the Third Division's breach of the Siegfried Line, patrols moved on Zweibrucken, Germany, part of the Saar industrial area. The assignment of Zweibrucken fell to the 30th Regiment. March 1945.


American Patrol

My father- John Patrick Gallagher- born in Ireland, raised in Brooklyn NY, joined Army Air Corp right after Pearl Harbor- 1941. Did 6 weeks training, made Sergeant and sent to Pacific.  Saw action in Dutch East Indies, Biak, New Guinea. Was there til end of the war- 1945.
