Unlucky German soldier
Description
On the vanguard of the allied advance, elements the 79th Infantry Division reached the river Seine near Mantes on the 19th August 1944, there a patrol killed this german soldier who they surprised as he was trying to escape across the river in a small boat, along with his BMW R4 motorcycle.

nottap63, I guess you never fought a war. In combay you engaged all your enemies whether they're trying to escape or not. Those that get away may come back later to kill you. No one ever said war was nice or humane. It's kill or be killed. I never...

The best time to hit the enemy is when he's in a position where he can't fight back effectively. When he's on the run or trying to escape is the perfect time time to hit him.
