They landed at low tide so that the various traps and such would be visible to the landing craft operators, but Oh Lord, that sure made for a damn long exposed crawl across that beach. I think Flame has got it right. Could only be Omaha. GR8 JOB LEX!!...

Right, navyson, about 10 miles linear distance. Will go on a little historical tour by thursday and will bore my wife with it. Hope to bring some photos to share.

I was just talking to my dad. His brother landed on omaha beach in the invasion. Couldn't say what wave he was in. My uncle kept tight lipped about what he went through.

I don't expect them to be the very first wave though. the guy probably wouldn't have lived to shot the photo cause with that seawall this gotta be Omaha Beach.

Yeah Flame that's what I was thinking... Not that I didnt respect them before I saw this pic, but I just respect these men that much more.
