    The "Flying Tigers" had also been an airline started by some of this very same pilots...the 1st AVG pilots. 10 former AVG pilots founded the airline (Bob Prescott,Duke Hedman,Link Laughlin, Cliff Groh, Bus Loane, Bill Bartling,Tommy Haywood, Joe Rosbert,Dick Rossi,Catfish Raine) in 1945 with Bob Prescott and became the largest cargo airline. The company, it's worldwide routes, assets and experience along with it's B747's, DC-8's, B727's pilots and most employees, merged with FedEx in 1989. The pilot pictured, Eric Shilling also later became a pilot with the airline.
