Located in the Carpathian mountains, probably in Karpatalja, a crew of Hungarian soldiers points an acoustic mirrors device toward the the East, manning an air raid early warning station.

Wearing light summer uniforms, these two young artillery men are receiving operating instructions from an officer, working with a  hefty (MAVAG ?) field artillery, sometimes before or during the early years of the war.

Once she was caught up in the great-power struggle of the Second World War, Hungary, a  small country of about 15 million people, made a major effort to manufacture all the necessary instruments of war, including the armored vehicles shown here,  for equipping the many hundreds of thousands of her sons sent off to batlle,.
