    Far more illuminating is what each army thought contributed most. It's also pretty easily done - just calculate what percentage of each country's armed forces was Logistics, Combat Engineers, Artillery, Armour and Infantry.

    He did indeed along with the importance of the re-organisation of his army (corps d'armee comes to mind) but the purpose of it was a short,swift and victorious campaign culminating with a decisive battle.Borodino was indeed a victory but its supply line just failed due to the immensity of the Russian country.At the end it cost him an empire.
    @Schuultz: fair comment but you could have argued even further in the past with the example of the 100 year war?
