Hey, you've got to be in your late 80's right? My Dad turns 90 on the 24th of December. What was your specialty?

My father was in the Seabees in WWII. Served in many of the places you've all discussed. Unfortunately, he died in 1982 and i dont have any records of his service. Not sure of the unit he served in. i am trying to track down what i can, but i've only just started. i dont even know his SS#, but i'm sure one of my siblings has it. Do any of you have a starting point or know of any resources where i can search these records? i was on the Department of the Navy site but it seemed a little overwhelming. again, i am new at this. thanks for any help you can give me.

    Hi,

Why don't you start with ancestry.com. Pretty much all you need is a name. Might give you a second step.
