    Default Your Military Experience

    - Do you have any military experience??? --- I served for 16 months in the alpine troops ["vinatori de munte" - in Romanian language] in mid-1970s in Romania. At that time in Romania the military service was 16 months but the Navy was 24 months. The TR-troops [short term troops] used to serve only 9 months starting with early 1970s. The basic weapon was the "AKM", a modernized AK-47 manufactured in Romania [at Cugir Arsenal in Transylvania] and officially called "PM-63". The weapon fired the Mod.1943 7.62mm cartridge [also known as 7.62X39]. The weapon worked very well in any condition [snow, dirt, sand or mud] and the "secret" was the high tolerances used in the mechanism construction. After 16 months of service I went home with the rank of sergeant. Orita 12/04/05

Basic at Camp Pendleton and during in-country time was attached to Kilo Company of 3rd Recon Batt. of 3rd Div., part of I Corps, up north in the area of Khe Sanh and mostly across the border to "points west." My MOS was 0321. We were in places quite "unofficially." We trained on M-14s and M-16s.

I served in the Civil Air Patrol for about a year and a half. Does that count? We got in our BDU's and marched everywhere for no logical reason, what else do you want :P ?

Lots of years in the best Army in the world. The British Army.

C_C where abouts did you serve on the Falklands? Do you know of the Greenhands Commandos (602)?

Were you one of the commando units who returned to the Argentine mainland during the war?
If you post idiocy, don't get upset if you are seen as an idiot.... I don't.

    Here endth the lesson.

    Have you seen any combat?

    Seen a little on TV.

Well, i am still interested in what he did Erwin.

    Edit to add.

Sorry Green Head commandos not green hand. When I searched for info on this i only found information on cabbages and a fictional story about star wars commandos called green heads.

I asked you for further information but just got drivel or abuse back.

I am still interested in your military. For personal use only you understand.

When I did my service, they were three simple rules to follow.

    1. If it moves-salute it.
    2. If it doesn't moves-move it.
    3. If you can't move it-paint it.

I was served in the Compañia Comando 601 (Ca Cdo 601), and yes, I was moving to mainland, for a hurt in the leg. It's all I can tell you.
