I hope this was a dramatization, and not actual deployment tactics,, the L.A.W rocket would take out anyone behind it...Those fellahs with the rifles are gonners.

That may well be my friend, I certainly would never get that close to an armed missile launcher,,, (feet, dont fail me now,,,)I copied a bit about the launcher fron the net,(Gary's U.S. infantry weapons guide.) and it follows.
" The M72 is an open-chambered weapon, so it has no recoil. The launcher's total back blast area extends 131 feet (40 m) to the rear. This back blast can damage equipment or seriously injure personnel who are too close to the rear of the launcher."

Danger zone. All personnel, equipment, and flammable material must be clear of this area.

Caution zone. The weapon's back blast may throw loose objects to the rear. Therefore, personnel must also stay clear of this area.

The blast area is larger than I tough ¡¡ The Army ha developed an 80 mm variant of the LAW, the MARA, pretty simple and cheap weapond, good against the APC and IFV, but dubiously effective if used to battle the MBTs.

Against todays MBT's it would indeed be no threat. The layered reactive armor would defeat this type of weapon. But,many nations use more wheeled AFV's these days, with thinner armor, and many older style homogenous armored tanks are still in use, so there is always a job for this weapon.
Its also great for breaching walls, dispersing troops, and scaring the neighbors....

The CITEFA ( technical office of armaments for the Army) claimed that the MARA is capable to defeat 450mm RHA.

For comparison a modern tanks like the T-80 have a laminated-ceramic armor wich is equivalent to 840 mm RHA, and the Vickers Challengers Chobham armor is superior to the 950 mm RHA figure.

Benditos sean los muchachos de CITEFA... Basándome en los proyectos que hicieron, no tengo dudas en afirmar que si tuvieran el presupuesto que tendrían que tener, lograrían maravillas que ni nosotros nos imaginamos.

Why not an enclosed SP gun?

    Like the British AS-90?

    Now you're talking.

AS90 is a 155mm self-propelled gun that equips six Field Regiments of the Royal Horse Artillery and Royal Artillery. Fitted with a standard barrel, AS90 can fire the NATO L15 unassisted 155mm projectile (96lbs) 24.7 km. With a long (52 Calibre) barrel the gun can reach out to 30 km using standard ammunition, and 60-80 km with Extended Range (ERA). AS90 is equipped with an autonomous Navigation and Gun Laying system (AGLS) based on the vehicles inertial navigation system, the Dynamic Reference Unit (DRU). All main turret functions are controlled by the Turret Control Computer (TCC).

    .

    Crew 5
    Length 9.07m
    Height to turret roof 2.49m
    Width 3.5m
    Ground clearance 0.41m
    Main armament 1 x L31 39-calibre ordnance
    Ammunition carried 48 x 155mm rounds
Secondary armament 1 x 7.62 GPMG on turret for air defence.
    Engine Cummins VTA903T turbocharged V8 660bhp diesel.

    From http://www.army.mod.uk/equipment/aad/aad_as90.htm

The above gun is like the old FH 70 155 howizter, complete with aux moving kit.

went out of service with the TA in UK in the 90s,

    Found these too.

    Check out this bad boy....

    what is this monstrositcy

Argentina have in service an armored self propelled gun, the TAM Palmaria, wich Erwin had posted some images, but the problem is that the figures of Palmarias are not enoug.

That is why I really believe our army ( and armed forces in general) need to be more independent of the civilians autorities, that usually have no the slightest idea of how the defense of a country works, how I hate that people.

The Pulqui II wa based In the Projekt III of the Ta-183 ( that was the drawings wich Tanks carry with him) but suffered also several modifications, also there was attemp to use the General electric axial flow engine of the US jest of that time but given political conflict with the Peron admnistration those powerplats never were available so...the Air Force had to content with the larger diameter and less powerful Rolls Royce , thing wich aditioned more modifications to the original projeckt.

That is why I said the the Ta-183 never flow, in his original shape

    Projeckt III
