Paul, I am so glad to hear you're doing fine! I was struggling with myself to respond to your mail of October 17 many times but after all -in spite of having experienced a breakup of a marriage as well- I was out of matching words. Anyway, I wish you and your family a merry christmas and a happy 2009!
Hi Paul -- I stopped by to see why you've been kind of quiet lately -- I guess now I know. I'm sorry to learn of it. I don't what else to say.... God Bless, Good Luck -- you can send me a PM if you need to vent.
Not sure how to say this really but my Wife and I have decided to separate. We are continuing to live together as we both still like and respect each other. This is something we have thought about for a long time and are planning carefully. We are not getting divorced at present. We told Micky and Ella tonight and they were both very positive. We are very sad that our 20 year relationship has come to this but please believe we have done everything we could have done to make it different. We met and married very young and are proud that we have been together for nearly 20 years. Sorry for telling you like this but we felt this was the easiest way for us to let everyone know. Marianne and Paul
Wow man, that was really quick. Nice having you as a buddy too.
Hi Ptimms, are you still there, or did I overwhelm you with information?
Am I gamer? Depends, I guess. I enjoy games in general, but usually specific ones: in other words, when dealing with, say, PC games, I am drawn to one, but have absolutely no interest in another, which may be highly similar...for no particular reason that I can identify. Now, as I suspect you meant was I a wargamer, Up Front is the only Avalon Hill game that has captured my interest (and it has hooked me quite deeply). I own several of the original Squad Leader (SL) board games, Gettysburg, and Waterloo, but never got into they much, perhaps mostly because few people wanted to try playing them. I did get into the SL games a little bit, but got a bit disappointed in them due to a few aspects of the game (e.g., ability to learn/remember Lines Of Sight between certain key hexes, etc..). So, I would describe myself not so much a gamer but rather an Up Fronter. Loved games like Risk, too, and chess, though haven't played either for quite a few years. Anyway, about Up Front I could write lots, so I'll send you a PM...!
Cripes, Paul! I just read your exchange with ygg in the thread about the civilian giving a Brit a drink in Caen. You don't suppose he's Stevey, do you? The use of language is different, but some of the logic sounds the same! Didn't know you had a wargaming interest. Ever try an old Avalon Hill game, "Up Front"?
Realy cool models! I wish i had the budget to do this ToT...
Paul just got through reading your article this morning and very impressed. I t had every thing to be newsworthy or at very least magazine quality. Very objectively written, and most importantly, accurate with dates and place. I liked it bro, i have always been impressed with you English's command of the written word See Ya, Rick
i can see a bit of your grandpaw in you, around the eyes
