Hi everyone

I have been searching for ages but I can't find a picture of 1.ID uniforms or lists of equipment issued - can anyone help? Would also like to know more of the general history of this division - for example does anyone know of veteran's accounts of their experiences with the 1.ID. particularly in 44/45

Werner Richter's Die 1. Ostpreussische Infanterie-Division should provide all the details you need.If you can find the book and read German of course.

You should consider yourself a lucky guy if you manage to get your hands on a copy of this extremely rare book from 1975...:(

The should be nothing special about the uniforms of the 1st (east-prussian) Infanterie-Division.
For the formation, commanders and deployments please look here:

(it's in german, feel free to ask if something is not understood)

Most of the good books would sell for 40 and over on Amazon so it's not that bad.
