Could you guys help me find some free downloadable FPS games? I'm playing the BF1942 Wake Island free download, and I'm hooked. Anyone else know of some others?

Steam has a few demos, Company of Heroes -not exactly FPS, but still pretty good. They may have a demo for red Orchestra too.

If you want a team based action game with next to no realism with not many servers with Punk Buster, laggy crash able servers with abusing admin,angry guests and !@&$#@ botters. Why not try Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory?

Depending on you view of abandonware (it's a grey area) Hidden and Dangerous has begun to appear on some sites.

Edit: Turns out that when the 2nd game was released the first was turned into a free download giving us the Abandonware version thats around now.

What's the point of this game? Is it an FPS, an RPG, etc.?

It's a bit of both. It's a squad based game set during WW2 were you command a 4 man squad of commandos in missions that range from blowing things up to getting intelligence, the game can be set to a FPS view or 3rd person view. The AI is good, they will take cover, hunt you down and try for kill shots so it's challenging.

Excellent! Thanks. I always liked that game on the old Sega game system.

Do you know if they have the sequel available for download? Expansion packs?

The expansion Devils Bridge is included in the download but i don't think it was released as a separate download. The sequel H&D2 plus it's exp Sabre Squadron are still for sale, there are some sites that say there might be a 3rd and if it does show up H&D2 might be released for free to promote the 3rd.
