Owen machine carbine.
Technically correct, but I've never understood how an SMG got to be designated as a carbine.

R. S., this was simply British nomenclature. It is a carbine (because it is shoulder fired and has a short barrel), it goes rock and roll, hence "machine", hence "machine carbine".

MOS
Thanks.
I've always understood the derivation of carbine to be from the shorter longarms developed for cavalry from infantry weapons, and assumed it would be applied to WWII weapons in the same way. Such as the Lee Enfield .303 jungle carbine.

Astra 400's, cant tell if they are the Republica Espanola version though. Everyone needs to really pay attention to these questions,as they are very detailed, and require stern concentration to answer correctly. we can't afford any distractions.

Sorry TG but I have to erase that...big thing.

Thats okay P.K. I only know the pistol as a 400, they are popular here because of the fairly cheap surplus 9mm largo ammo.

Since no one has offered another answer, I'll say they are the modelo 1921 pistols.
