Wasn't that inspired by "Stalag 17"?

Which in turn, I'm sure, inspired 'Allo 'Allo!

'Allo, 'Allo was a parody of a very good serious series called Secret Army.
Albert the owner of the Cafe Candide in "Secret Army" :

René the cafe ower in " 'Allo 'Allo" :

Did anyone ever see a BBC show that consisted of a man who had a little shop in our current timeline and he was able to go through this room in the back of the shop and he was transported back to the 1940's? I saw a few episodes and it seemed pretty good, though I cannot remember the show's name.

Great! Thanks, like I said that was a neat show. Now that I know the name I'll try to get some dvd's of it. I also liked a show called Danger! UXB. (I believe) - set in wartime London. That was a good one too.
