I'm a little bit sceptic about such a news. I know that Americans recognized his body.
But I remember what my leading professor asked me few years ago, when I had decided to write my M.A. thesis about war in Chechenya. Because he spent a lot of time on Caucasus during 90's and later, I consider him as a expert on that region.
So he asked me, how many times had media annouced death of Shamil Bassayev? My answer was - 2 or 3.
-You're wrong. 27 till today. 8)

Russian media (to be added!).

2005
On February 3, 2005, British Channel 4 announced that it would air Shamil Basayev's interview. In response Russian Foreign Ministry said that the broadcast could aid terrorists in achieving their goals and demanded that the British Government call off the broadcast. But the British Foreign Office replied that it could not intervene in affairs of a private TV channel and the interview was aired as scheduled.

The same day, Russian media reported that Shamil Basayev has been killed. It was the 6th such report about Basayev's demise since 1999.

So, there is a major difference IMHO.
More, on http://www.mosnews.com/news/2005/10/14/basaevalive.shtml you could read
Around 06:17PM local time on Thursday, Oct. 13 [2005], a source in the FSB headquaters in Nalchik told the newspaper, that both Doku Umarov and Shamil Basayev — two of Russia’s most influential adversaries in Checnya — had been killed during the terrorist raid on Nalchik, the Kabardino-Balkaria capital, which left dozens dead.

My bold.   I bet that all other reports on his death were based on "a source told that..."

On topic, I do believe that Zarqawi is dead after checking the major news channels and news agencies.

That's right!

Do you think that Zarkawi's death will change the situation in Iraq?

Personally, I'm afraid it will have no influence on war. His death will have a symbolic meaning for some groups of muslims, but war will go on. Zarkawi has already become a martyr, so what's worse, his death may encourage more fanatics to join guerillas.
For Iraq itself - It won't be safer there. There will be a new guerilla leader.
So in my opinion it won't get any better.

My only comment was on the news itself, not on the implications. :D

"Zarqawi is dead, but the difficult and necessary mission in Iraq continues," Bush said. "We can expect the terrorists and insurgents to carry on without him. We can expect the sectarian violence to continue."

I'm a little bit sceptic about such a news. I know that Americans recognized his body.

they have run DNA test and they have confermed that the body was the body of Al-Zarqawi.

American sniper,
don't get me wrong, I didn't say that it is a false information about Zarkawi's death. When I was writing my post I didn't know about DNA tests.

By the way, I was interested in opinion of forum members, not Mr Bush's opinion.

Pointing a CNN as a realiable source of information was a joke, right? 8)
