Just recieved a copy of this for my birthday. Damn fine read it is to.
Hair raising stuff.
Basically a collection of personal experiences as told by Bomber Command crews, from trining through to the end of the war in Europe.
There's some crazy stuff in there. i.e. the tale of one rear gunner whose plane was hit just behind the turret. The plane was on fire and he couldn't reach his parachute. Burn to death or fall to certain death (with the hope of passing out on the way down). He woke up 3 hours later in a snowy landscape having had his fall broken by a fir tree.
