Has anyone seen this movie before, its a couple of years old and has some big stars in it but is a brilliant film of the whole life of Adolf Hitler slowly turn into a mad man with the power of a whole country.
Hitler in the movie doesn't really look like the real Adolf but plays a brilliant role.

The movie is a few hours long but is very much worth watching and the facts of the story as all correct.

Anyone seen it ?

This is good and I would recommend it. I think I mentioned this on another thread, but Cralyle gives a truly excellent performance of the maniac in action.

You can actually see him red with his veins pulsating when he speaks his anti-jew propoganda to the Germans and communists, he also spits with fury...i think he played a brilliant role but they could of chosen a more look a like hitler actor, or even powdered Robert Cralyle up a bit more to look like the real Hitler.

I caught this movie last year and thought that Robert carlyle,s performance was intense and convincing , he may not have been a Hitler lookalike but he had the mannerisims,body language and speach pattern to a tee.
Robert Carlyle does do a good Psycho ie- Begby in Train Spotting or the serial killing LFC fan in the first series of Cracker.

its on CBS, i buy the dvd and the guy who plays hitler is a pretty good actor despite he doesnt really looks like hitler, his face is less evil than it should be.

A bit off topic but, there was a Twilight Zone of abut 2-3 years ago where someone went back in time and killed Hitler as a baby. Hitler's nanny bought a poor Jewish gypsy's baby from her to replace him and the results were the same- a maniac.

I saw this film recently.
I have to agree this was a brilliant play of Robert Cralyle as Hitler.It's very impressive. He don't look like Hitler but feels like he. The emotion ,gesticulation and mimicry is very plausible.
But the scenario of film is very stupid.
Hitler was showed as crazy maniac who take the power in Germany. And 60 millions of germans "idiots" belived him.
Director of film even don't try to explain why it was possible to rise the power nationalistic movement in Germany in the 1920-30. I don't talk about anti-jewish propoganda and why Hitler was showed as "creator" of anti-semitizm in Germany.
Its seems director nothing know about Big Red bolshevic Terror in Russia and that Trozkij planned war offensive to the crushed Germany in the 1921. He sended troops under command of Thuhachevckij and just becouse poles under command of Pilsudskij knocked off bolshevics armies near the Warsaw it was possible to save Europe (and Germany) from the invasion.
Interesting ,why after that West-European antisemitizm rise again since the medium centuries. Director of film answered - very simple just becouse Hitler appeared.
No guys, firstly was the Bolshevic terror in Russia - then anti-cemitizm in the Western europe - and only then Hitler appeared. Coz it was very excellent condition for the nationalist like Hitler in the 1920 in Germany becouse NOBODY IN EUROPE DIDN"T WISH TO REPEAT THE FATE OF RUSSIA. And very quick the national-socialism ideas spreaded - it was absolutly proved when Germany took practically all the Europe since 1939-1940.
I heared even in the USA Hitler was called as the Person of Year in 1938.

May be somebody gets satisfaction to name Hitler as evil, maniac , stupid idiot or something like that but this is absolutly can't be the reason of the tragedy of comming the NS to the power in Germany and the total evil which it come to the world.
Becouse i think we must be very careful for each other - just in the mutual influence one nation to the anothe and the understanding of common processes could explane the dramatic events in the Europe in the 20 centuries.
