I'm 44 in a few weeks and rea'lly have been there and done that
A few words of advice to younger members
Enjoy your youth ( it's a one shot deal)
See as much of the world as you can
Your girlfriends dad knows what you are thinking
Don't get married until you start losing your hair(no one loves a baldy)
Sex is about quality not quantity ( if you have'nt had sex in the last six months worry about the quantity)
It is better to regret something you have done rather than something you have'nt ( subject to legality)
Google is no substitute for education or real experience
The expression Knobendedness is subject to copyright (LargeBrew2005)
Ironman is a sad lonely man dont encourage him
Drinking (alcohol) and posting is inadvisable but fun

Knonbendedness,
this expression is derived from the term Knobend, similar to Dickhead
Knob and Dick are euphamisims for the Penis and used to discribe stupid or foolish person ( in UK slang) as used by NCO to other ranks with the prefix you utter fucking. Knobendedness = stupid behaviour

The Clash were anti-Thatcher/establishment and if I remenber correctly London Calling was circa 1979. I am reliably informed that Rock the Casbah was the most requested song by UK squaddies during Op Granby( Desert Shield/Storm) while the US forces favortie was the wimpy "get their by some female artist that has'nt stood the test of time.

Scaley, approaching baldness is natures way of telling you to get married, however you can avoid this option by requesting a number one from your barber, smart, clean and parade freindly. By 26 I had passed the point when a no1 would do and have since requested my barber to " set the controls to the heart of the sun" ie zero. Don't forget though when on Opp's or Ex if san's lid cammo your head as a shaved pate is a remarkably reflective surface.

Sorry crab.
The capbadge you display is the QGS, 250 is with 30, you have 246 at 21 and 248 is at 2. THose last two might be the wrong way round I can never remember.
Oops. I was surprised to see Gurkha Signals at Azimghur Barracks at all, having not seen any during occasional visits over the past year. A quick google revealed 250 Gurkha Signals, so I thought it must have been them. I live and learn

Yeah, they're downright dangerous - you could stub your toe really badly if you tripped over one on a dark night
Edited to add: did once try walking back across an airfield on a moonless night after taking out my contact lenses and spending some time in the bar. I think I'd have seen more with a blindfold on - planes are downright dangerous things in the dark!

Although Airfix was appealing stealing girl's knickers from their changing room was for me always more fun. Especially when you tied them on a line and attached it to the school minibus so when it was driving around it was followed by girl's knickers!

Thanks mate. Look this is a great forum and while things can get heated at times, most people take it in the right spirit. This is all about information sharing, not scoring points.
What I like is, I've learned a lot from a diverse range of people and it proves to me, we're all not that much different, no matter where we live. Forums such as these can spread goodwill and help eliminate some of the old hatreds and animosities and prejudices. My only complaint is often I don't have the amount of time to contribute.
I'll get off my soapbox now and wish you all the best for 2007 my friends.

I don't think we really need the separated thread for the Luftwaffe.

Maybe we can create an "Axis aviation" and "Allied aviation section"

If I had the money I would fly every plane flown during WW2 and part them in your frontyard so that I wouldnt have to hear about this anymore :D ........ half the topics in the WW2 section are on aviation. You more or less have one already. Im not going to make a special section for aviation unless those really interested in it are getting pissed off coz its hard to find any threads on them. At the moment most of the ww2 discussions are aviation related. I understand your want for separation but I dont feel now is the time. Anyhoo back to HOW OLD ARE YOU?
PK you can PM me or meet me in A&M to discuss further.

To keep on topic, I'm 33. Maybe the only woman on this forum? I'm not sure. To veer a tiny bit off topic: I grew up in King City, CA and my best friend's father leased and ran the only airport in town. He bought a P-51 Mustang and I helped restore it because I worked at the airport after school from the age of 12 to 14 to make extra money. I was in charge of scraping the old paint off and sandblasting parts and washing airplanes and keeping the hangars looking good in general. I worked on that airplane for hours, never knowing what an amazing piece of history I was laying my hands on every day! Oh the stupidity of youth!

Wow! Congrats, cherish it....not even many guys get to do this.
I had the wonderful opportunity to break down and re-rivet real FW190s at a small museum here in South Texas. Sadly, they have been sold to some rich people in Florida.
Okay, back on topic. sorry guys, even the admin needs to be straightened sometimes.
