So how do you know if someone got promoted or not.
When you reccomend someone, how do you know your reccommendation was taken notice of and the person promoted??

Oustanding moderator award suggested for DANI

1. For doing what moderators are meant to do, and being moderate!
2. In holding the Medal Dani will sewt a high standard by which we can evaluate other contenders for the title as he sets a good precedent.

I second that with absolutely no doubt in my mind. Dani has been very fair and even handed, especially when you consider that his first language is not English.

He has never (well, hardly ever*) taken one side of an argument over the other.

Fantastic Mod.

I disagree with that, I think a Moderator should not get too involved in a subject that he moderates, also he is the only Mod to receive a warning....

He does a pretty good job, but I don't think he needs a medal for it.

As you has noticed already, not every proposal turned to a medal.

I hardly ask you to post only recommendations here.

Bluffcove, Tubbyboy and BDL I saw that in this moment you don't give a shit on a mod's advice.

This is an opportunity to edit/delete your posts made after my warning:

WARNING:
In this thread will be tolerated only posts dealing with certain recommendations.
All other posts will be deleted.

Or maybe I don't speak a proper English and my warning is very difficult to understand. I suggest therefore to our Admin(s) to appoint as mods only users with English as their native language.

Thanks gents for your effort to read my stupid, humble and igorant post.

Edited: I am ready at anytime to be discharged from Chief Mod / Mod status. Maybe then I'll have more time to discuss what I'm interested in (now it is like I am Mr. Policeman).

Dani - I was replying with my opinion about a medal recommendation, surely that's what this thread is for? If you don't agree, feel free to delete my post and this one. I personally thought that the recommendation was joke, and gave my opinion as such. Many people seem to be recommending their 'friends' for medals for no particular reason - myself, Man of Stoat, Fuchs and Bluffcove could recommend each other for every medal going if that's the way it's going to work.

By the way - I have no problem with you as a mod at all - you seem like a decent bloke and you try and understand what a thread is about before you delete it/start an argument about it.

I nominate PzKpfw VI Tiger for a site peacekeeping medal in his recent defusing of the topic "Favorite fighter & bomber WW 2." As some folks got off track (that's the most diplomatic way to put it) PzKpfw VI Tiger re-affirmed the goal of the topic.

Firstly,

I agree too... he deserves the award. I'm late?

You are not late but i think its only Sergeant Major can give reccomendation for medal's.
and

Remember only Sergeant Major's and above may make recommendations for medals

Please recommend in the following way.

1. Please list the Name of the Person you are recommending.
2. Which Medal.
3. Why you are recommending they recieve one.
4. If applicable please list location of action.

Secondly,
I suppose that you speak about "Favorite American Fighter/Bomber" http://www.ww2incolor.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=778&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 on which Tiger's last post was on August 19th http://www.ww2incolor.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=20170#20170

If you follow the format above i.e.

1) Name of person medal is to be awarded to.
2) Which medal you recommend or just write " i don't know which one".
3) Why medal is to be awarded.
4) Where this reason was noted for clarification.

It is much easier to sort out.

Normally I hate to disagree with Mod in public on issues like this but I would have to disagree with this one at this point because he has only been here since June. The Loyal member medal is usually resevered for people that have been her almost a year. However his conduct has been very good and I do acknowlege his merits. I think he should be recommended for the "rare" Site Service medal. He has gone out of his was to translate things for us non-russian speakers very well. Please feel free to second this one.

Sneaksie Im not sure how you find this. Some are interested in the award while others are not or goes against beliefs. So anyhow just let this read to you that we appreciate your help with the site. Thanks.

You can PM me with your thoughts on the issue.

Rising Sun is a great member yet hasnt been around long enough for the Loyal member award. We normally wait a year before considering this one.

At least I think that is what is meant here.

I don't often post in this forum, but I feel recognition is way past due for the following. In order of medal precedence as per http://www.ww2incolor.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2084

If medals are already held, I propose a bar to indicate the second award.

- Firefly

- Outstanding Moderator Medal

- He is always fair and firm as a Moderator and often defuses situations between members, is very good at sorting out differences in National views to different events.

- Everywhere, esp on the Falklands Board

- Cuts, BDL, Man of Stoat, pdf

- Outstanding Loyal Member Medal

- All have contributed much to this site, and I feel many have gained from there knowledge and experience. In particular Cuts' short shrift to fools, BDLs experience and knowledge of being a soldier in the big bad, Man of Stoats intimate knowledge of weapons and engineering and PDFs general historical and Political knowledge.

- Everywhere

- Panzerknacker

- All-Around Good Posting Medal

- For his good pictures and info that he digs up, apart from his occaisional blinds from bad info sources that should know better.

- Everywhere.

- Cuts, BDL, Man of Stoat.

- Site Service Medal

- For being a few of the valiant stalwarts who had to endevour to educated IRONMAN (Banned Member). It was not easy watching IRONMANs drivel that could quite easily be taken as fact by some of the younger members of this site.

- Any IRONMAN thread.

- Cuts, BDL, Man of Stoat.

- Site Defense Medal

- For being a few of the valiant stalwarts who had to defend the site against the uber troll that was IRONMAN (banned member).

- Any IRONMAN thread.

- Firefly

- Site Peacekeeping Medal

- For above and his easy going and fair but firm approach to many of the misunderstandings on the site.

- Everywhere, esp the Falklands threads.

Actually, the nicest guy here, George Eller, deserves that medal more than I. I can be a pretty rude bastard at times. Though here I'm slightly more civilized I guess...
