First of all does anyone have this game? I got the new patch for it and it seems to help out alot. But i found a pretty major glich in it and wondered if anyone had the same problem. When Germany defeats France ....Vichy France does not become a puppet. This is kinda a major problem. 2 I cant seem to make more air squadrons more than 4 planes which pretty much sux even though the commanders can handle more than that.

What was weird was that when i was invading France the only country that came to help was Holland. I guess France wasnt to interested in getting there country back. Think this had alot to do with Vichy France not being allied with Germany. Please let me know if you have had the same problems or want to know where the patch is. Thanks

i don't think that's a bug.as far as i can figure,the game does not use seeded information to enable a high replayability which means AI players acts randomly(well,not 100% randomly,they have some goals,possible allies etc).but then again,i'm not sure.

Well you know, you are never going to find it for free on the net, you really have to go to File Sharing program. BTW its only for PC right?

You could possilbly find it for free on the net.........I uh know uh people that have gotten many games for free off the net. But yea you are going to have to use a file sharing program and they are shutdown and reopened alot. As far as I know its only for PC.

I think your right ive tried a few different things and it seems to be getting better. The patch seems to have also fixed the crash problem which usually happened when you ran the game at high speed.

You might try bumping you isolationism up as quickly as possible then join the allies to help get more blueprints ....or the axis as well but i think you can get more from the allies. Then just run wild from there. :D

The best i ever did on easy was conquer all of russia, Europe (Accept for allies) and all of the USA including all the islands. As Germany of course. Didnt get all the techs but was close :D

This game is really great,it rocks,you can be tazmania or uruguay in ww2! really interesting.

The game is set up pretty well. Once you get into it you can cheat a bit. For instance if you wanted to make a united South American Alliance you can be brazil. Influence other nations and the go be that nation and as them to join your alliance. Yea its kinda cheating but you can still have the difficulty on redicously hard and it will be a rewarding game nonetheless.

The patch out there helps out alot I think but the only problem that ive noticed is that Vichy France does not become a puppet of germany after the fall of france. Although you can influence them to come to your alliance. Just think this is a bit off. It didnt do that before the patch. The thing i really like about the patch is that you get penalized for stacking loads of units. Which is really good coz it forces you to look at your commanders skills and abilities.

But like i said the game is setup so that you dont really need cheat codes. Im sure they are out there but wouldnt want them. I just like to cheat a little and have odd alliances sometime Like the US allied with Germany or something silly. :shock:

don`t worry,mac are great machines!,they have better graphics than a pc (a lot!) much better for burning dvds,and with 64 bits procesor!!!,and that in a smaller machine!!!.

Update

There is now a 1.2 patch out for HOI2. I really suggest reading those readme's that come with it. It helps alot in understanding the changes. The 1.2 seems to be very nice over the 1.1. Let me know if you have any questions.

FYI What I like to do is play for awhile on each patch before i go to the next just incase i dont like the changes.

Got this game a few weeks ago, going as Britain is too easy, hammered the Italians in North Africa and nicked it all off them, and battered the Japanese and Siam (who tried invading Singapore while my back was turned).

Just park the Home Fleet outside Wilhelmsaven and the Kriegsmarine can't get out (they're not strong enough to fight the RN), put the reserve fleet outside Brest (if the Germans capture the French Navy) for the same result. Then all you have to do is sit and build your army up until you're strong enough to recapture France (I was on my way to doing it without America joining the war and 2 years early).

Tried it as the Germans, and it's bloody hard. You cannot build your fleet up to try and fight the British without weakening your army and air force (both of which need to be very big to try and take Poland, France and the Low Countries).

Quite true...

While playing Soviet Union is a piece of cake (you have only to ensure that you don't have partisans amongst SU). I received half of Poland and I crushed Finland and Sweden and now I want to take control over Turkey (it is 1944 - Germans doesn't want to attack :lol: ).

Playing US is very boring for me (at least if I start from 1937).

On the other hand playing Brasil was easy because I received a lot of support from US.

As Germany, if you can conquer Europe on Very Hard and Furious aggressiveness your pretty good. (without cheating)

Also I figured out how to start off with all the techs. Not hard at all just becomes a problem when you try to plug in the Army and Naval Doctines coz all are different. Currently im working on trying to take over the entire world on very hard and furious. Next I think ill try it with Tibet and spread Buddism to the world. :lol: :lol: :lol:

starting with argentina is easier,technology is a bit better,and you have more troops,and great doctrines (you can have the blitzkrieg).the germans help you so much.but brasil has more terrain,and you must first conquer chile,and not sending everybody to concordia.
take uruguay and chile,ally with peru,paraguay and bolivia.

btw,i was playing with rumania yesterday,vgood troops,the ci is great.

Conquer chile,if you don`t do the war with chile,and you send all your troops to frontier in concordia with brasil,don`t do the war with chile,and no ally with bolivia,if you are allied with bolivia,you have war with chile.

Although the army is very big, it's not that good and it's hard building up a force big enough to face the Germans without either not modernising the rest of the army or not building up your air force.

Been as Germany to mate, conquered all of western Europe (including the UK) and had taken pretty much all of the Soviet Union when I started the Soviet game - I much prefer the Germans to the Soviets.

If anyone wants to know how to cheat you ass off at this game I can make a post. The one you usually find on the net kinda suck. HOI2 is a really easy game to pretty much do whatever you want. If you wanted to and had the time to mess with it you could have every country start off with all the techs. Gulp..........nukes flying everywhere.

my latest game:

1942,i conquered all south america in one year attacking with the highest doctrine level in contrations of troops at each country at once and mantaining my relations with usa to have every time that i broke it,the non agression pact again,and then i conquered portugal,and i jumped from there to spain,i have also their african colonies,i jumped up and conquered britain and northern ireland,im going to do a coup de etat at ireland and i have to finish conquering the british colonies to annex their nation.
im in the axis btw,they have france.
the axis is going to win,the americans are now fighting me and im holding them in colon (im going to take mexico to cut supplies in all center america and then take it!).

note that im playing with argentina.

i have to say that this is one of my best game in hoi2 since i have it,it is an easy game now,i remember when i bought it,it was difficult as hell,im going to put later a few pics,because i cannot find the save games (hard disk formated and i moved info to cds).

i will try south africa,the only country of africa that i tried was madagascar,because i like the geographical zone,and i had firstly to liberate it from france.

arrrrggghhh!,im not good for navy battles,pearl harbor is impossible,give me yugoslavia and i can won a war to germany but i cannot even win a sea war with the royal navy and their entire fleet against uruguay,and i usually play with argentina so guess....
any tip?,thanks.
