It was June 6, 1944 early morning. The landing craft were already setting out when the GIs here bomber thundering over head. The bombers main mission was to destroy the German fortifications and allow US troops to move inland. This did not go as planned there was major cloud cover over the targets and the bombers couldn't identify there targets and they didn't want to hit men in landing crafts. So they set their watches to 20 seconds before bombs away. They know that when they were over the beach the had around 20 seconds to hit the bunkers. Sadly, this calculation was off and the bombers dropped their bombs far off from there targets. Many bombers were lost to heavy AA and not a single one hit their target. On the bright side though no US troops where hit by the bombs but later that day would be affected for life by the invasion.
