Not trying to rain on your parade, but the helmet net grid seems far too wide for WWII US helmets.

Seems there wasn't any regulation for marking US medics' helmets in WWII. http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/90521-wwii-medic-helmet-markings-regulations/

In the quest for eternal truth, some rain must fall on parades.

No problem Rising Sun, my four M1? helmets are all hand painted by me, and if they came with the plastic liner, it was replaced with a fibre one, this one was 6.00 and came with a plastic liner, and like a cotton net with a elasticated band, which I sold for 2.50, shell then 2.50, fibre liner 13.00, which was a early Belgium one, net 4.00, repro helmet chinstrap 8.50.

The stencil was made by using a CD as a template, and then measuring to get the cross right.
