View Full Version : What type of bomb is that?

It has been picked up from the bottom of the Odra (Oder) river in Szczecin (Stettin), polish-german border.
According to the press release it is a 500 kg aerial bomb.
Anyone got a clue? Is it an american?

Tail looks wrong for the US M-65 bomb.

It **MIGHT** be a German SD-500

Doesn't exactly match the G.P. 1000 either, I agree that with the ring around the boom mount it looks quite German. (I'll have to rewatch Danger UXB to make certain ;) )

That's one plucky Polish EOD guy! The bomb looks in quite good shape whomever made it. I'm no bomb expert but the tip looks far too conical to be U.S. origin...
