Well as i know all tactical ( almost all) things that RA has adopted for service in ww2 was taken from ... Wermacht.
I suggest it was a slighty adopted for russian condition the germans vertion of Artillery Horse..

I had to lock down the photos ,it seems that people are using my photobucket to host the photos sorry all
The photo of the Russian soldier holding Hitler's head is priceless:) Is he using a walking stick? Wounded?

I have no doubt that was in Berlin and the Russan was thanking his stars he was still ALIVE!

Yup, I'd say walking stick or one of these old-fashioned umbrellas.
