In June and July 1942, prior to the Battle of Stalingrad, the Hungarian Second Army was involved in the Battle of Voronezh as part of Army Group B. Fighting in and around the city of Voronezh on the Don River, the Hungarian troops supported the German 4th Panzer Army against the defending Soviet Voronezh Front, and so on.
I belive too, that even if you've never seen that picture before, it doesn't mean you are right.

This photo is not familiar to me from the many Hungarian sources I have seen, so if it shows Axis battle-dead at Stalingrad, the unfortunate victims must be GERMAN OR GERMAN/ROMANIAN. Good luck doing some accurate research.

Hungarian, italian and romanian troops was stationed north and south side of Stalingrad as "over-extended" flank troop. They were not so good equipped as germans and they payed high price for that. They had no anti-tank guns or there were good against light tanks. There are stories of t-34's running over troops as they tried to run away.

The Western Allies made their deal with the Devil and became allied with Stalin to beat Hitler. They NEVER wanted to have war and never wanted to be allied to Stalin. They did what they had to do to beat the great threat to their own countries. RIP to all innocent victims.

Stalin and communism has killed the most people next to religion. Hitler was strongly anti communist and the society that was created was by all means better than communism and even Americas. There were more morals and respect than other countries. I am not saying he was God or all the things that happened under the NSDAP party was right but I am saying that this war does not rest on Hitler or even Germany alone. I love history, especially war history, and Hitler definitely forms a different image when one looks, reads, and learns more about it. In reality Stalin was ten times worse than Hitler, Churchill, and FDR combined and Communism would bring the allies back into yet other battles where millions more would die and kill. I for one have some of the highest respect for the German soldiers who fought to end the communist head, along with the millions of Romanians, Polish, Czechs, Ukrainians, Austrians, and even Russians. God bless their soles, families (most later to be raped), and their brave effort to defeat communism.

Their deaths rest on Hitler. A useless sacrifice to a sick, evil madman. Hitler was the cause of this massacre.

I think they died on there way to a siberian prison camp. Imagine walking on a winter weather in a leg or knee deep snow. Its like the death march in bataan,Philippines. Many died on there way to a prison camp.

As downwithpeace wrote these are the casualties of the greater Stalingrad area gathered after the fightings had ended.
