It's easy, in our days to hate the U.S. and the "american way of life", but the fact is what the U.S. "did" in the last 200 years to other nations was done before by many nations worldwide, some examples: the roman empire, the mongol empire, the english empire, the spanish in south-america, the portuguese in Africa, the french under Napoleon, the germans under nazi rule, etc, and so on...when a nation is "on top" it's normal for the people of that nation to have a sense of superiority, 200 years from now this will all be seen as history no diferent from the examples above, and besides, the U.S. are not the world's enemy, mankind is, per se, mankind greatest enemy.

Hi Colonel, and not to disagree with your main point, but I would say that Vietnam was "initially" a war against French colonialists, though that takes back before your 1959 start date. So far as Timespanr goes -- well, I understand that while the USA is the largest exporter of arms, the second largest is Russia, and Germany and China are also in the top five. Not exactly WASPs there, either. And - OF COURSE - if the US stopped selling arms, I'm SURE all those other non-WASP nations would do so too - after all, there would be no need, right?

It is not usual that I become embroiled in petty squabbles about our culture, but when I read this 'clap-trap' put forward by persons on this website (Timespanr take note) it makes my blood boil. What W.A.S.P. has to do with these aforementioned wars I really do not Know. The Korean War started June 25th 1950 and sprang from the attempts of the 2 Korean powers to re-unify Korea under their respective governments. The Vietnam war 1959-30April 1975 was initially between the Communist North Vietnam and the government of South Vietnam. The US entered this war to contain the spread of Communism and to prevent a Communist takeover in South Vietnam. The Sudan Civil War certainly had NOTHING to do with White Anglo Saxon Protestants (WASP) This war came about through the continued plague of ethnic, religious and economic conflict between the MUSLIM North Sudan and the CHRISTIAN and animist Nilotes of South Sudan. The war in Somalia started with insurrection against the overwhelmingly repressive regime of SIAD BARRE. These are Black nations in AFRICA emrboiled in crime and dictatorship struggles, perpetuating murder and pillage and have little bearing on the history of WASPs. I could go on, but hey you'll probably find some smart assed comment in reply to the foregoing. It sometimes makes me wonder why I spent the last 40 years fighting to keep the likes of you free.

This is a perfect example of the on going actions by the White Anglo Saxon Prostistant (WASP) culture in America, that still exist today, 2009. Look a Guantanamo, and oth sites around the world. It is all a set to support the American Military Inductrial Complex, selling more Arms around the world than all other countries. We don't make War, we dictate it, we supply it and in the end we weill fight you until we cannot afford to do it any longer: Examples Korea Vietnam Sudan Sumalia Iraq and before long, Afganistan..... Wake up
