    This is not ww2 related but anyhow. I’m read somewhere that Derek Riggs, the man who has painted many of Iron Maiden albums covers, got the idea for Eddie, Iron Maidens mascot, from a picture of a Japanese soldiers head stuck on a tank. And when looking at this horrific picture, I think this might be the one. Just imagine, first you die and then you end up on T-shirts and worn by thousands of maiden fans all over the world. That is to make a foot (or head) print in history.

    This picture is mind blowing. Really brings the horrors of the war in the east into prospective.
