My Grandfather while on leave in India 1943

My Grandfather while on leave in India 1943

Description

Here is an extract from my Grandfather`s diary "Then the firing started and the Japs knew we were there, they started throwing grenades down at us and as the grenades had a small red glow on the end we could see them coming down in the dark. One could only hope they would pass you before exploding, a lad next to me was hit and killed" The diary is quite a harrowing read and brings a tear to my eye everytime I read it know what he went through. I`m just glad he made it back in one peice !

Not quite true, as a lover of history I would love to read that diary, you should consider to print it or make a site or a blog dedicated to your grandfather and post his diary and photos (something that other people did!), that piece of history...
