Resistance Armband
Description
This is the armband the Wife's Grandfather wore on liberation day when he fought the Germans. They were in a fire fight with an Officer who killed the soldier on one side of him and wounded one the other. If his MP hadn't jammed the old man thought he would have been killed too. The German escaped in his car.

Reading his letter it looks like Mantes, the town is on the Seine and was liberated by the Americans on 19/8/44.
